Eligibility Criteria:
- Applicants must be a Sierra Leonean of 18 years or above and possesses a valid Sierra Leonean driver licence.
IDP Accepted:
- Sierra Leone recognizes physical IDPs, as long as they meet the requirements set by the country’s traffic regulations.
Application Process:
- Go to Sierra Leone Road Safety Authority office to inquire about the driver licence application.
- Obtain a driver licence application form and fill it out. Submit relevant documents such as birth certificate, social security card, and proof of address with the completed form.
- Pay the fees at the finance department.
- After verification and approval, the International Driver Licence will be issued to you.
Validity:
- An IDP obtained in Sierra Leone is generally valid for one year from the date of issue. If needed, it can be renewed, but the validity cannot exceed the expiration date of the domestic driving licence.
